Channel diffusion of sodium in a silicate glass
We use classical molecular dynamics simulations to study the dynamics of sodium atoms in amorphous Na2O-4SiO2. We find that the sodium trajectories form a well connected network of pockets and channels. Inside these channels the motion of the atoms is not cooperative but rather given by independent thermally activated hops of individual atoms between the pockets. By determining the probability ...
متن کاملMechanical response of sodium silicate glass
We propose a new method using coarse-graining and molecular dynamics to calculate structural and mechanical properties for sodium silicate glasses at different scales. Using this method we were able to describe the mechanical behavior of the material, this way a new constitutive model was developed which could be used in continuum calculations.
متن کاملCdSxSe1-x nanocrystals in a silicate glass
A dilute system of CdS,Sel-, nanocrystals with low anisotropy and low size dispersion has been studied by SAXS. The presence of angularities at the surface of the nanoparticles is evidenced from the limit at zero of the chord distribution function. Moreover in a model of spherical particles the size given by the average chord does not agree with that given by the integral parameters. A cubic pa...

15 صفحه اولDocking Studies of Phthalimide Pharmacophore as a Sodium Channel Blocker
Objective(s): Recently, phthalimide derivatives were designed based on ameltolide and thalidomide as they possess a similar degree of anticonvulsant potency due to their phenytoin-like profile. The ability of phthalimide pharmacophore to interact with neuronal voltage-dependent sodium channels was studied in the batrachotoxin affinity assay. Therefore, in the present study, a series of 19 com...
